Sculptor Toby Martin categorizes this piece as an environmental sculpture. The piece also has an alternate name, “Spiritual Time.”

Toby Martin is a sculptor with a special interest in engineering and metaphysics. Martin draws inspiration from science and spiritual practices of the Dogon of Mali. He served as associate professor of art at Spelman College. He has received commissions from many sources in Atlanta and the southeast.
