Artist Statement

I have created numerous large-scale sculpture commissions for private collectors, universities, colleges, and companies all over the country; each one tailored to the clients’ specific site and culture. Many have become signature pieces, proudly associated with their commissioning body. In addition to my commissioned works I regularly show in international art fairs and galleries, and have works in major collections in North America, Asia, Europe, and Australia.
I started out as a painter and later switched to physics. I did my graduate research participating in a seminal experiment probing the foundations of quantum physics in one of the world’s leading research groups in Vienna, Austria. My science training enables me to take advantage of cutting-edge technologies to achieve my artistic visions. But most importantly, my first-hand experience of the enigmatic underlying nature of reality has provided me with key cultural insights, informing my artistic path ever since. I create visual metaphors that resonate with the viewer and encourage a deeper thinking about the relationship between us and our world.
Recent innovations in science and technology are ushering in a new era for sculpture. In my work I utilize novel approaches from diverse fields to re-invent the ancient art of sculpture. I often arrive at my designs by imagining the physical, psychological and spiritual dimensions of my subjects seen through the lens of science and technology. I design my work to be beautiful and highly engaging to diverse audiences.
