Dedication of New Mural, “Wild Seed, Wild Flower” in South Downtown Ahead of World Cup

ATLANTA, GA — April 21, 2026 — The City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) invites media and community members to attend a special mural dedication celebrating Wild Seed, Wild Flower, a new public artwork by Atlanta-based artist Charity Hamidullah.

Located at Windsor and Rawson Streets, this latest installation reflects the City’s continued investment in public art as a powerful tool for storytelling, community connection, and neighborhood vibrancy. Created in partnership with Living Walls, this mural is the result of over a year of planning and three weeks of on-site production, supported by a dedicated team of collaborating artists.

Wild Seed, Wild Flower blends human connection with elements of the natural world. At its center, a poignant image of one child tying another’s shoe—while tying their own—captures a universal truth: growth, care, and resilience are collective acts rooted in both community and self-love. Through bold imagery and layered meaning, the mural transforms a shared public space into a visual narrative that reflects the strength and spirit of Atlanta.

This installation is part of the City’s Bridges, Tunnels, and Walls program—transforming public infrastructure into dynamic canvases that celebrate creativity, community, and global connection.  Murals like this serve not only as artistic landmarks, but as living stories—honoring place, people, and the connections that bind communities together.
