Outreach and Education
|
The Office of Cultural Affairs Public Art Program (OCA/PAP) makes outreach and education initiatives available to both the public and private sectors. The OCA/PAP engages artists, arts advocates, political leaders and the community in the process of supporting and appreciating public art, and work to advance the understanding and appreciation of public art programming throughout our community.
The addition of stakeholders (residents, city officials and artists), integrate community into the decision making processes. Engaging stakeholders has proven to be the best means to educate both community and artists on the governance and creation of public art.
Seminars, panels and workshops offered by the OCA/PAP give aspiring and emerging artists opportunities to interface with and learn from established artists, architects, administrators and government officials. Through OCA/PAP outreach opportunities, artists learn and master the challenging world of public art from leaders in the field.
Undoubtedly, outreach and education is the foundation on which the OCA/PAP supports Atlanta's Public Art Program.
