The City Gallery at Chastain exhibits a rotating schedule of art work by local, national, and international artists. Sponsored by the City of Atlanta, Office of Cultural Affairs, this charming Buckhead location is convenient to the idyllic grounds of verdant Chastain Park, one of the area's most pleasant civic greens. Exhibitions change seasonally, so be sure to check the current roster for new displays.

"Question Bridge:  Black Males"

Internationally acclaimed artists Hank Willis Thomas, Chris Johnson, and Bayate Ross Smith present Question Bridge: Black Males, a transmedia art project that seeks to represent and redefine black male identity in America.  Through video meditated question and answer exchange, diverse members of these demographic groups bridge economic, political, geographic, and generational divisions.  This exhibition will be represented with video and photography by artists including Hank Willis Thomas, Chris Johnson, Bayate Ross Smith, and Kambui Olujimi.

Interspace

Interspace, by artist Andie Steele, is a site specific installation of multiple lines of monofilament that weave across the space. Sculptural in form, the lines will be connected to make rectangular forms, reflective of the size and shape of the windows that surround the outside of the gallery. This altering of space forces people to reevaluate their immediate surroundings and to view the world around them in a new light. Andie Steele has previously shown at MOCA GA and various southeastern galleries.

Oglethorpe Senior Show

Curated by Professor Alan Loehle, Oglethorpe Senior Show will be a four-day exhibition comprised of works by graduating art majors from Oglethorpe University. Students Sarah Duff, Nicole Kang, Lara Jacques, and Lauren Visconti will showcase some of their best works created as undergraduates. This will be a dynamic and engaging show – there will be a variety in styles, mediums, and subjects. Come out and see art made by talented Atlanta college students!
